Digitalizing Ski-Rental Management with OCR-Based Customer Registration

Goal of the thesis is the design and prototypical implementation of a web-based ski rental management system that combines the speed and simplicity of an established paper-based rental workflow with the data management capabilities of a digital solution. A key focus lies on minimizing manual data entry through automatic extraction of customer information from identity documents (passports, ID cards, driver's licenses) using optical character recognition (OCR), preserving the employee-driven, high-throughput nature of the existing process.
